Holidaze

It’s that time of year again…cold weather, spending time with family, eating lots of good home cooked meals, partaking in many of the fabulous Winter seasonal brews, and a few extra pounds on the tank when it’s all said and done. Some people just watch their diet or take the pounds willingly and expect to drop them when the weather warms up and the new year is in full swing, others take matters into their own hands. Now I’m not good at diets, but I eat fairly well (thanks to Kristin), so to head off the pounds before they show up I need to be more active. Unlike that damn Spearmint or the Raging Ranter, I don’t have the opportunity to bike commute. Well I should say I “choose” not to bike commute…this is based on the fact that my roundtrip commute would be over 80 miles a day. So how to add in a little extra fun activity to keep the pounds at bay? Hold on…is that a pig that just went flying by my window? Yep, I’ve started running AND I’m even doing a few ab exercises. Starting today gives me the leg up on everyone who decides their ass is too big on New Years Eve with the side benefit of giving the dog a little more action than just walking. So this December is the first annual…

So if you happen to see me and I’m looking fatter than usual, feel free to give me a swift kick for motivation…like I even need to ask.

damn you, semi-fat-bastard! you and spearman are gonna force to to actually get my lard-ass on my bike and start commuting on a regular basis.

good luck with your plan. when do the TNS rides start back up? that counts as exercise, not drinking and eating crap food…right?

You know, it helps to have a naturally-high metabolism. Git you one, already.

Running, hmm, don’t blow out the ol’ knees; you need them to do that other thing that burns calories. No, I mean biking.

This morning it was 34 degrees when I hopped on the bike. First time I threw on the leg warmers, and they were overkill! I think I have in about 82 days bike commuting to date, all in a row, for some 1,650 miles this year. Adds up quickly.

Can’t wait for the snow rides to start…ice, on the other hand.
