Well it should be no surprise that I’m posting this one. Here’s another selection of Cut Chemist songs from the newly released “The Audience’s Listening” album. Chemist brings his usual turntablism skills to the show, clean concise cuts and scratches, yet this album is unique in that while it is firmly rooted in hip hop, it also dabbles in many other styles…can you say surf rock! This tends to be one of the few albums you just throw in the CD player and let play from beginning to end. Not only because it’s that good, but because the flow just moves along, like a ribbon of singletrack that flows along a mountain top ridge trail. The grooves are infectious, if only Apple didn’t make such a crappy product (iPod), I’d be grooving a lot more.
What we have here is just a few of the selections, Track 2: (My 1st) Big Break - scratching is what he does best, Track 4: The Garden - taking it international with the world music, and Track 6: What’s The Altitude - bringing it back to the hip hop.
