Ketch-Up

Long time no post.  Let’s see, 1 year Anniversary was awesome.  Matched my previous years DFL at SSWC with a DFL at Quantico in the Cranky Monkey…this might be my new anniversary tradition.  After the race we hit the Colvin Run Tavern for an incredible dinner out, with all kinds of free goodies and a custom made menu just for us - now that’s service!  Other than that, it’s a lot of the same old same old, life getting in the way of life…brewing, biking, family.  Buster has developed seperation anxiety so we are giving the old puppy prozac a go.  Big doings coming up for November…post to follow shortly.

    The puppy Prozac works!!

Our dog at work (my boss’ dog) came from a shelter with separation Anxiety and puppy PTSD. He was so bad that we knew he’d be put down if returned to the shelter.

But 4 years later, after months of private training courses and 20mg of Prozac per day, he’s actually a really great dog now!

The two big things I can say from experience:

    1. It takes a few weeks to start to work at all. Then you have to step it up s-l-o-w-l-y. We really wanted to just give him a lot right away, but the vet said over-medicating can make the dog even worse! So go slow & go low.

    2. Give it to him in the morning (not evening) and make sure he gets it at the same time every day! (Trust me it makes a difference).
